When I think about social media and how much it has changed over the years, I can only assume that it will keep growing in all of its aspects. Social media keeps being taken more and more seriously as the years pass, and that is all because of its great impact.
One of the biggest changes that I predict will occur is that more and more businesses will place a greater focus on social media as a whole. Larger companies will most likely see the great impact that social media can have on their business, and therefore they can invest more time and money into it. Not only will money be invested in social media dedicated departments, but also into the platforms through shareholders. As social media platforms receive more funds, more features can be added into the platforms. This then becomes a cycle as the more features get presented, the more people see the value and invest.
What this means for people who utilize social media for entertainment purposes is that they will find ways to differentiate their content from that of businesses. What I predict will happen then is that more and more trends will be created, and new social media platforms will rise. This then goes back into the cycle as new platforms rise, more value gets added to them.
Because of all of this, it is certain that the future world of social media will become huge and only get bigger from there. I am excited to see what is to come!
